Page 2 · How it works
Every file is a page at its own address.
Deploy a folder and each HTML file in it becomes a page. Its address is the space's link, then /-/, then the file's path.
Read an address in five parts
Tap a part of this page's address.
The separator
Everything after /-/ is a page inside the space. No space can be named “-”, so the split is never ambiguous, even if you add more spaces later.
The folder decides the addresses
Folders work too: a folder's index.html opens at the folder's name.
File you deployAddress it gets
index.html…/multi-page-spaces…the space's linkabout.html…/multi-page-spaces…/-/about.htmlguide/index.html…/multi-page-spaces…/-/guide/guide/setup.html…/multi-page-spaces…/-/guide/setup.htmlimg/map.pngnot a page: pages show it with src="img/map.png"spacesheep.dev/@james/multi-page-spaces-a-mini-website-explained/-/team/roadmap.html
A page of the space, at its own address.
The pages share one link, one history and one audience
Shared by every page
- The link you send
- Who can open it: private, invited, signed-in or public
- Version history: each deploy is one version of the whole site
- Title and emoji on your dashboard
Each page has its own
- Address, after
/-/ - HTML: its own content and layout
- Comments and reactions, pinned on that page
What happens when a reader clicks a link
deploy.htmlOpens in place. The header stays and the address bar follows to /-/deploy.html.https://other.siteOpens in a new tab, so the reader never ends up on another site inside your space.#section-mapJumps to that part of the same page.
